Our Founder

The story behind the Vidyalaya

Shree Guru Sangeet Vidyalaya is dedicated to nurturing young musical talent and preserving the rich heritage of Indian music.

A. M. Arun Kumar, founder of Shree Guru Sangeet Vidyalaya — M.A. in Music, Sangeet Vidvat, vocalist and music director

Founder & Music Educator

The institution was founded in 2013 by A. M. Arun Kumar, a Music graduate with a Master of Music, as a small initiative to share the knowledge and values of music with aspiring learners. Guided by the blessings and valuable advice of his revered Guru, Sri Ayyappaiah Halagali Math Guruji, it was formally registered in Dharwad.

After successfully serving students in Dharwad for five years, the Vidyalaya expanded its vision to reach learners across Karnataka. Its Head Office was established in Ranebennur, Haveri District, where it has continued its musical journey for more than a decade.

Today the Vidyalaya has trained hundreds of students through systematic music education, stage performances, cultural programmes, and preparation for State and National-level music examinations. For the past two years, Ranebennur has also been home to a National-level Music Examination Centre, giving students the opportunity to pursue recognised music certifications.
